About
Us
Founded in 2023 by Lola Arenas, Jadene Meyer, and Esther Kohl, Parent Theatre Company began at NYU Tisch Drama as a platform for artists inspired to create their stories on their own terms.
Our founding ethos is to create a space in which we can reimagine what it means to carry on roles in theatre and film, as we take on the unique responsibility of creating our own work. We are passionate about creating a network that can support and foster new talent.
This May, we made our Off-Broadway debut with our production of Dance Nation by Clare Barron. We selected Dance Nation because it cuts to the core of our experience as young artists— one that celebrates exceptionalism only insofar as it remains unthreatening...
But what happens when this choreography is challenged?
We were thrilled to partner with Royal Family Productions, a historic Off-Broadway site. It was an honor to produce our show in a hub of rich theatrical tradition.
Much to come, and in the meantime, we’ll see you at the theatre!
